If they are making money selling the stuff they should pass the savings off to me if I am doing the sorting for them. The earth has been cooling anyway. I agree we should recycle. I just disagree with the way it's done. 100% of the garbage humans produce is recyclable. All of it. Everything. So recycling should be done by the people who pick up the trash.
Magents can pick out most metal items. Shaker machines can sort out glass and the rest of the metal. A water bath can take away most food items, as well as turn most paper to mulch.
From there, the remaining trash can be sorted by prisoners, assuming measures are taken to prevent them from hiding weapons.
Everything can be recycled, at a much lower cost than we pay now, to recycle a small percentage.

I think you're right on. If recycling is so damned PARAMOUNT, then why does Waste Mgmt give you such a rinky-dink little bin? I live alone and can fill it up in a couple of days.

I agree Maria, recyling is a complete waste of time. Garbage belongs in the trash can. If soneome wants to sort it out and paw through it at the dump, more power to them.

By the way, I think its perfectly cool to throw your coke bottle out the window of the car when you're driving down the road. Makes a cool noise when it hits the sign. Also keeps the car clean...

Maria- You don't have to go full throttle right away. Poco a poco. Start with just your magazines and catalogs. Get a cute container from the Container Store and designate it as your "recycling bin" next to your trash. Before long you will see how fast it fills up. PS. You won't have to take your trash out as often!
